I know people here are aware that David got his first job at the Murray Park amphitheater, so I thought you would like to know (especially you, Minna, since you’ve been there) that Little Cottonwood Creek that flows through Murray park has overrun its banks and now the park, some businesses and homes have been flooded.  Spokesman for the Murray City Fire Dept. claims that “We’ve got depths at about 5 or 6 feet deep in the park area.”

Thanks for the photos, lyrix. How awful! I hope Murray Park will not suffer any long-term damage. It’s such a beautiful park with many wonderful trees. Just look how gorgeous it is in the autumn in these photos from my trip to SLC in Oct 2008: autumn in Murray Park and more Murray Park.

Thanks for the photos, Minja. Quite a difference between the picturesque images to the raging torrents Little Cottonwood Creek currently is.
