Watched this ‘live’ and as usuaul …I was blown away. Not only was this a beautiful rendition, but it was also so heartfelt. David Archuleta has such a natural ability to sing with emotion and he makes you feel the song with him! Beautiful, just beautiful. And he looked so handsome in his polo sweater, very refined. He has so much class.

Thanks for posting this so quickly Minna. It was so nice to be able to watch it again.

    Take care,
    Katie

I agree, bigarchiefan–he did look refined! What a wonderful young man. U.S. Open made a fabulous choice. I hope David had a good view of the American flag as it was unfurled over the tennis court. What a great experience! I have heard him say he loves to sing al fresco in large arenas. Thanks to soundscene for getting the video on YouTube so quickly.

Such a glorious rendition of “America, The Beautiful.”
David’s voice is like a magic potion that places everyone who hears it, under his spell. Case in point, notice the man
at the 1:00 mark, it seems like he’s telling his neighbor that yes, this guy can sing! And, the woman at 1:03, softly singing and swaying to the music. David has performed at several sporting events, hopefully he’ll get the opportunity to perform at the Olympics, which is one of his dreams. That is something I’d love to see. 🙂

I find it difficult to find any performance better than this one! David has this uncanny ability to better each and every performance, but this showed us his heart and soul for his country!!
