This afternoon I was looking through some pictures of David on tour from many of his recent concerts.  There was one particular picture that was from his Florida Radio Tour that caught my eye.  As I looked at it closely a sudden sadness waved past me as always reality seems to crop up eventually.  David has blossomed into a beautiful young man. He was always been beautiful but now his looks are quite different.   I noticed the texture of his face is different, the structure has changed and even a few freckles appeared under his wispy bangs in this particular photo.  Oh my, the sweet 16 year old is gone, I know, and now he has emerged into a handsome young man, but part of me is sad and the other part is excited to watch him grow into manhood.  His mother must see this and feel proud yet a little saddened as many of those changes occur when he is so often away.  From the inception of  Season 7 my eyes, ears, heart and soul was David’s and now I can’t find any reason why they still shouldn’t be.  He just gets better and better with every concert and interview and with the great reviews coming in from all sources so does everyone else.  As Paula said he is a gem for the world to see!

Is He Too Busy?

It may be just the Mother Hen in me or is David looking  just a little tired?  Well he should be tired, even for an 18 year old!  The Buzz is he has an album coming out before Christmas plus a Christmas album as well.  If that’s not enough he has to finish this tour, then to Asia and to the UK.  Grant you, at least in the UK his songs may be less as he is opening for McFly and he might be able to rest a little more in between concert dates.  But now we hear there may be a summer tour as well.  Yippee for all of us, but I feel for David and the limited time he may have doing two albums in one year.  Now we all know he already has several songs he can put on the new album — Zero Gravity and many more that never went on the first one.  Also there is the possibility he may even do covers of other Artists.  The Christmas album may even be easier and the standards are already written, maybe just a new version and some rearrangements, although that takes time as well.  Nevertheless, David puts so much emotion and energy in every performance it must be hard to find any down time and to be just a teenager.  He does love what he is doing so I must imagine that has to keep him going strong from day to day.  Eat well, rest when you can and no more 2:00 am blogs!  Ha! Ha!  Will see you on tour!

How to Make an Archu-latte

An Archulatte is a wonderful hot and refreshing beverage. Like its namesake, it is characterized by a light body, rich aroma, and sweet nature. No bitter favor notes will reduce your enjoyment down to the last drop.

Step 1: Pour half a cup of hot Deseret Dairy milk into a porcelain mug.

Step 2: Add steamed cocoa which you preferably got from the Ulúa valley of Honduras, the Cradle of Chocolate.

Step 3. Top off with two round chocolate bits that look like David’s eyes and make a huge smile with whipped cream.

NOTE: If you want a kick, add a dash of chili powder to the cocoa mix.

I was just looking at the final tally for the “Clothes off our back” celebrity auction and the hard hat signed by David fetched $300. Woohoo

It seems like the top celebrity was Ricky Martin????  but David was in the top bidding category, beating out Jesse McCartney & the Jonas Bros. (Not that I’m being competitive)   😀

David’s Sweet Reviews

9 March 2009

The reviews are pouring in on David’s performances and this is just a small portion of what the critics are saying.

Richmond Times – Dispatch- Sometimes, it’s not so bad to come in second.  And it certainly doesn’t hurt if you’re a tiny teen idol with puppy dog eyes and hair begging to be ruffled.

Lehigh Valley Music Blog – Teen “Idol” Archuleta hits all the right notes at Croc Rock – What’s not to like about “American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta?  Absolutely nothing, if you were at Allentown’s Crocodile Rock on Sunday.  In a concert that spanned 70 minutes and 14 full songs plus a medley of four songs, Archuleta sang with passion, exuded an engaging boyish stage presence and didn’t hit a single bad note with his rich tenor voice – and in fact, hit many very good ones.

Boston Herald – David Archuleta may have settled for second place on the seventh season of “American Idol,” but he got a pretty good consolation prize:  a career.  Tuesday night’s sold out performance at Pearl Street in Northampton was any indication, Archuleta has the ingredients to not just excite fans in a dingy nightclub on his first solo tour but to play bigger venues in the near future.  In sum, Archuleta may be the perfect pop concoction:  looks, talent and charm, with a sound that appeals to teens and grandparents alike.  “American Idol” may have put him on the map, but this young star casts a spell that’s all his own.

Chicago Sun-Times – Archuleta in concert throws doubt on “Idol” votes – There is a pure, pleasant pop quality to Archuleta’s tenor voice and just enough raspy soul to add shape, color and weight to the tone.  And he sure knows how to work a crowd.  Fans at the all-ages, general admission show began lining up around 10 a.m. Sunday for the coveted spaces close to the stage.  The “Idol” runner-up made it worth their while when he took the stage in jeans, a  black shirt with the sleeves rolled up and an gray square tie to perform “Touch My Hand.”  It was a calculated and obvious choice to begin the show, and Archuleta made darn sure he touched just about every hand thrust towards him from the first couple of rows of people.

These are just a few snippets of many reviews of David’s outstanding performances and they are getting  better and better as well as his command of the stage, interaction with his fans and of course his vocal ability to make any song his own.  He has broken out of the American Idol shell and proved America got it wrong last season when the majority voted for the rocker over the crooner.

I NEVER HAD A DOUBT!!
