Petition to Ask David Archuleta to Record “Apologize”

Although he has a fantastic self-titled album in the shops, what better way to kick off the summer sunshine than by getting our mitts on a copy of this song? Or even a whole album of covers as brilliant as this?

What’s more, many of you even seem to prefer David’s version of the song to the original, so, with all respect to Ryan Tedder, surely it would be a crime to leave it unrecorded?

Either way though, we loved a bit of the ArchRepbublic pairing back in 2008, and so I have made it my goal to get Mr Archuleta to get back into the studio and to belt out his version of Apologize – or at least a B-Side, and make us all happy!

Who’s up for a little petition? Come on guys, I know you love David as much as me!

Did David miss Graduation Day?  He missed Mother’s Day!  Let’s hope his summer tour gives him a brief moment to remember Father’s Day!  Holidays seem to pass by so quickly for David.  In London he asked us the date of Mother’s Day.  He sometimes is so busy he is not sure where he goes or when.  Exciting month for David and all of his fans as many concerts are starting. I am leaving on the 4th to see David in Salt Lake City for a concert at a soccer game and he is singing the National Anthem.  Then I am off to the Del Mar Fair Concert on the 20th.  My 60th Birthday is on Flag Day the 14th and when asked what I wanted to do all I could think of is seeing David.   My Birthday wish comes true.   May these coming days of June bring all of you as much joy and happiness as I am sure they will bring me.

Prince Charming

We all have different qualities that make us who we are – some we’re born with, others we acquire as we prance or stumble through life. There’s one single quality that stands out among all others in leaps and bounds. This quality is charm. You’ve known people who have it and you wonder how they seem to be so positive, so upbeat, so energetic, so joyful – how their lives seem to be so…well, charmed. What’s going on and how do we get some of this great stuff called charm?

David Archuleta is among those who were born with this elemental quality of charm. He makes people want to emulate his every action, ‘every little thing he does’. This kind of influence over others is amazingly powerful. Imagine, charming others by the way you live and breathe, aspiring others to be more of what they are, inspiring them to believe in their own dreams. This sounds like immense responsibility. But, I think this is where charm differs from other qualities. Charm imbues David with the sensibility of knowing his presence is real. He isn’t constrained by a sense of being someone he is not. Charm doesn’t feel like a ‘heavy load’ for David; on the contrary, it feels like a ‘load of pure fun’.

It’s interesting that the word charm, as a noun, means ‘keepsake’, a memento, a reminder, a token. In a nostalgic tradition, we seek to be part of, to hold dear, that which most resembles our cherished beloved. In the end, charm as a noun and charm as a higher dimensional element both lead us to the place where our hearts open to that which is good in life.We are drawn to David as if drawn to light.

As a fish that jumps from the pool to get a better look at the beautiful butterfly, we take a leap out of ourselves and, for a moment, glimpse an elemental transformation as we are charmed, in turn, by Prince Charming David Archuleta.

David Archuleta and REO Speedwagon

I just saw a brief video of David Singing with REO Speedwagon. All I can say is wow, and it was so weird at the same time! I am a huge fan of both of them. REO Speedwagon was one of my favorite bands back when I was a teenager, in the 1980’s. Brings back so many memories! I was actually David’s age. Yikes I am dating myself! Anyway, flash forward to 2009 and here is my favorite singer, David Archuleta, singing with one of my favorite bands. I loved it! I think the thing that struck me the most was the way David looked so comfortable on stage with them. He sang with them and showed everyone what a talented young man he is with that voice of his. Sure he was only up on that stage for a few minutes, but in those few minutes he belted out some amazing notes!

How cool is it that David at 18 years of age feels so comfortable singing with a band that is way before his time. He really has such a love for all music that he can go to any concert I think, and not only love the music but connect with it!

I am so glad that REO Speedwagon invited David up on that stage. I think they were as impressed with him as he was with them! Classic all the way around, just classic! 😉
