Did you see him!? I taped the AI finale last Wednesday night for the sole purpose of searching the audience for David Archuleta. In slow-mo, I watched as Ryan Seacrest introduced Cyndi Lauper. Seacrest walked down the aisle, saying ‘hi’ to Dad and another man. As he walked onward, I saw a blonde woman sitting on the aisle — and right next to her was our David! Dressed in blue and looking so happy! If I had not taped the show, I might have missed seeing him.

I will never understand “American Idol” and its producers. Why didn’t Seacrest at least say ‘hi’ as he walked past David? Oh, I know why — it would have caused ‘audience fandemonium’.

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day. I hope you are all relaxing and enjoying the holiday weekend with family and friends, as we take the time to remember the men and women who have served and continue to serve the United States of America. It truly is the land of the free and the home of the brave!

As I was catching up on all the latest news on David Archuleta, I was happy to learn that he is home in Utah for the holiday. He will be spending time with his family and friends as well. David deserves this time with them. He has just finished a very successful and busy world -wide tour. Now I hope he will be able to have some fun as he relaxes with his family and friends. Perhaps he will be able to catch the local parade and enjoy a barbeque!

Whatever David is doing, I am glad he is at home now. He has mentioned many times, how much he loves spending time with his family and how important that is to him. His family in turn, must be thrilled to have him home! David has been twittering about it since his arrival back in Utah. He sounds so happy!

Dean Kaelin sent out an update with his E-Book.

David is already working on songs for his second album and I am anxious to hear what this album will sound like.  When he recently had a week off after his solo tour, we got to write a bit and David got to experiment with some of the ideas he has in his head and some of the sounds and beats he thinks would be good.  There is a bit of discussion going on however about the direction of this album.  I think David would like to do something more acoustic, with some of the beats and sounds that he has heard in some other artists and things that he really likes, but the label seems to want him to do a more “dance groove” kind of CD.  David can see the good of both approaches since at a concert the fast stuff goes over very well, but he still likes other sounds as well.

I sincerely hope they can find a compromise, as David deserves to experiment with his ideas and sing the kind of music he loves.  No matter what is decided I am positive his second album will be exciting and wonderful just like David.

In case some of you haven’t noticed there is a biography being sold on Target.com:

David Archuleta                                      (Robbie Readers: Biographies)   by Elizabeth  Scholl

It is available on pre-order and the price is $25.70.

It does not say whether this book was authorized by the Archuleta family but it does look very interesting.  Worth buying, it has a cute picture of David on the front.  I already pre-ordered mine.
