As David prepares to fly back home, he is so appreciative of his manila rebus fans. I like the way he stresses the second syllable. Have a safe trip home, David. I hope you can sleep during the long flight. Maybe stop in Hawaii for a well-deserved R&R.

What can we say about David Archuleta that hasn’t already been written, pictured, on video or on audio.  Not much!!  But our emotional responses are all different and unique each time we experience David.  We all say he gets better and better with each performance and his stage presence with his added confidence makes every performance new and exciting.   My trip to England only confirmed by thoughts about David and his talent.  Before I explain how marvelous David and his band was I need to back up to the morning of the concert.  My friend and I rose early to catch the train to Portsmouth from London Waterloo Station and the two hour ride was picturesque.  Excited to be in England and to see David also was more than we could bear.  Arriving around 10:00 AM we needed to check into our hotel, but we wanted to see the venue he was performing at so we walked to Guildhall.  It was only a short distance from the train station and a few minutes to our hotel.  Well, the line had already began as McFly fans were queuing  up (lining up) so we asked the girls at the end of the line if they would save our places while we check into our hotel.  I offered them 10 pounds each and they were delighted to keep our place in line.  We returned later after lunch and they were gone but two other young ladies said not to worry they went to get something to drink and they were saving our places.  After some introductions and small conversations we began to interact with the crowd.  They were amazed we would come all the way from the US just to see David Archuleta.  Many had heard of him and liked him so there were many that were fans waiting in line.  We told them we would be leaving after David’s set so they decided to make it possible with some of their friends in the front of the line to move us up so we could go in first.  It was standing (mosh pit) room only and they wanted us to get up front.  They were very sweet and started calling us their American Mums.  We were uncomfortable at first and said no but they insisted that we go in first.  The average age ranged from 13 to 21.  Quite a different age group from most of David’s fans.  Finally the door opened and we went in.

Believe it or not, the crowd went absolutely wild when David came out and the more he sang the more they loved him.  My camera just keep clicking pictures with his every step of every song.  He even smiled at us as he recognized us from other events and it just thrilled both of us to no end.  Every song was a crowd pleaser and Zero Gravity got the whole place rocking.  He came, he performed and he conquered.  We were eating out of his hands by the end of his set, and his band was perfection.

After the concert we got to spend some time with David — just me and my friend.  He spoke to us for about 45 minutes.  He asked us if we were coming to the show in London and we said of course.  He really seemed happy to have some fans from home there to support him.  The London show was just as wonderful and again we got to see him for a short period of time and there were many fans to greet him. Germany, Italy, England, US and we were so happy to see David enjoying himself and as always spending time with each and every fan.  This was an important tour for David as it gave him the knowledge that even if his CD had not been released yet (actually yesterday) he has fans all over the world who admire and love him for who he is and his tremendous talent.

I have attended many of David’s concerts and have many in the next two months planned, SLC, Utah, Del Mar and Los Angeles, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada.  But the one in Portsmouth will always stay forever in my heart as it was the private time we spent with David just talking about everything and anything.  He is still ‘Just David,’ the  sweet, humble, adorable young man we have all seen in concerts, TV,  and radio interviews.  But definitely something has changed, he has gotten taller HA! HA! and he has acquired confidence and a maturity that now is mirroring his tremendous talent.  He knows what he wants with his music and is determined to focus on his career.  He loves what he is doing, he is having fun and most of all, for us, he loves his fans.  I sincerely love this young man a little more each time I see him.   I can’t imagine life without him.  Thank you David for making this trip to England a once in a lifetime experience.

Thank you, TOfan, for an inspiring review on David Chronicles! I enjoyed reading this article today. The best line — and it’s so well-written — is:

…behind his niceness lies the heart of a lion — and it beats with strength and courage … and in perfect time.

May 10th, 2009, Can a Nice Guy Finish First? Too Good for His Own Good by TOfan

David Archuleta has the heart and soul of a musician. We all know that music is sublime, and that a musician’s life is often painful and difficult. In the music business, as in many aspects of life, success brings respect. The more success David has in his career, the more the media and the public will consider him for his talent alone. It is so important for his fans to continue providing support in these early days of his life as a singer. Through all the ups and downs, we will give David the unconditional acceptance a great artist needs.

What a difference a year makes! Who would have thought this time last year that David would perform his last show in the UK on this very day. He has been quite the busy little bee and will be buzzing off to the Philippines next week to sing in front of his largest crowd yet (last I heard it was approx. 41k and will probably get larger) along with Cook. I pray for safe travel and health to both, favorable weather, and that this will be a great experience for them. I think that it is a testament to David’s undeniable talent and his worthiness to have been AI7’s “winner” that he is sharing the bill with Cook. Has something like this happened before? I have no doubt he will do what he does best–woo them with his charming personality, wow them with his amazing vocals, and slay them with his unmistakable passion.

PS: My heart goes out to Cook, it seems he had no time to grieve the loss of his brother. I hope it doesn’t come out at an inopportune time.

HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY to all the “Queen Bees” here at DA Buzzing!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Honeybees! David will soon finish his tour of the U.K. with McFly. We Honeybees wish “our boy” a safe flight back home. Is it just me, or does the country feel different without David here?

It’s not DaFly, it’s a Honeybee!
